Utah Chess Association: A Custom Hub for Clubs, Events, and Community

Put Riverton Restorations next to Utah Chess Association and you see the same builder, two completely different sites. One is a luxury Pre-Owned piano showroom. The other is a statewide nonprofit hub for players, clubs, and tournament organizers.
That's the proof behind "custom code, never a template."
The brief
The Utah Chess Association needed a site people actually use: find the next tournament, join a local club, find a coach, check results, and support the organization. Participation first — not a brochure that looks nice and goes nowhere.
Why a brochure template wouldn't work
Nonprofit themes often stop at About, Donate, and Contact. A chess association needs:
- A living event calendar (championships, club nights, rated and community sections)
- Club directory with times, locations, and contacts across Utah
- Coach/instructor listings (clearly as a courtesy directory)
- Results and champions history over time
- A path to donate without burying the calendar
Same "association website" label; totally different ops.
What we shipped
- Tournament and event calendar with details and registration paths
- Statewide club directory
- Coach/instructor directory
- Results archive and related association content
- Online donations
- Structure that scales as the calendar fills (Open, Amateur, State Championship, school events, and local series)
